Audience Research
Odiri's Response
I asked the contacts on my blackberry messenger aspects that they enjoy about horror films to help give the team some direction into how we can help shape our movie trailor
The response i got from Odiri tells me that sometimes it's not all about having scary music to create a tense & awkward atmopshere sometimes silence could easyily do the trick
Shanice's Response
The respone i got back from Shanice tells me that the plot and storylines of a scary/horror movie is just as important as the blood, gore and guts. The storyline keeps the audience engagaed and also adds to the elepment of surpise that scary movies offer.
Shanice's Response #2
Shanice's favourite horror sub-genre is Slasher & Splatter and by adding the smiley face shows that she is quite keen and enjoys this sub-cateogory a lot.
I also asked Shanice when did she prefer finding out the killer is - She said at the end which suggests that foreshadowing who the killer is helps to add surpirse and keeps the audience engaged.

Esther's Response
The main purpose behind Horror/scary films is the element of fear and to be scared, so this is one of Esther's expectations when she watches scary/horror movies.
She also expects to see deaths and she expects there to be at least ONE main object of Fear. For example, Nightmare On Elm Street - character Freddy is the Main element of fear.

Femi's Response
Femi pointed out all the general things that are normally shown and expected in horror/scary movies. this suggests that sometimes going along with some of the traditional expectations of horror is what the audience expects in the film.
Femi's response #2
I asked Femi to point out his favourite horror movie and the element about the film which made him specifically engaged to this film. Likewise to one of responses shanice gave, Femi also likes the Element of surpise. This tells me that the element of surprise is key in a scary/Horror movie.
Eddie's Response
From Eddie's response I got that the sense of innocence and vulnerbility can be key to horror movies ... & in some cases, like Eddie's, Funny.
Eddie's Response #2
If there is a evil villain in a movie, it is very important for that someone/something to have a signature weapon, I think this helps to make a name for the villain and make him/her/it memerable.
Ire's Response
Sometimes horror/scary moveis leave people 'scarred' e.g. Nightmares, fears of certain things becuase of the movies influenced.
As Ire stated sometimes horror movies can be seen as cliche and our team will try to steer away from this.

Dami's Response
As you can see, not everyone is totally into scary/horror movies because of the blood, gore and violent scenes. It 'makes people 'scared' as Dami states.
On the other hand, usually psychological, thrillers and J-Horrors do not contain any or as much blood and gore as slasher & splatter movies. So these sub-categories could be more conventional to use instead of splatters & Slasher films.

Lola's Response
Probably the most important question is down to the movie trailor. According to Lola a scary movie trailor should show the main characters, should NOT be predictable and should include why the killer is on a killing spree.
This tells me that it is important that the team do not make a predictable movie trailor, we show the main people involved and we try and include a tiny bit of the storyline to show why the killer(s) is killing people, without giving too much away. Sounds Easy Enough!
