Question 3. What have you learned from your audience feedback?
After months and months of hard wark to produce our three final products (horror trailer, movie magazine and poster) we wanted to know whether all our hard work paid off and what the audience thought about all three of our final products. We were interested in what they liked about the final products, what they weren't so keen about and what they felt could be improved. We that that it would enhance our work if the audience could add their own personal opinions onto our work. Afterall they are the ones we are aiming to please, so what better way to know whether or not we accomplished what we hoped to?
TRAILER FEEDBACK VIA YOUTUBE
- After we posted our trailer on our weebly website we then posted it on www.youtube.com to allow views from a wide range of people, as well as just our friends and individuals that know about what we’re doing. The way in which youtube is designed it allows people from different parts of the world to view videos posted, this way there will be a wider range of diversity when it comes to comments & opinions about the trailer rather than it just being based in the UK.
- The image below shows the feedback the film has received since being uploaded onto youtube. The video was posted on the 6th March 2011 and has been receiving views at a slow but steady pace. At this point the trailer has received 182 views and the graph helps to show the progression of the trailer at each stage.

Some who watched the trailer was either due to ‘word of mouth’ or simply by the promotion of the group. People who did not hear about our teaser trailer by the promotion of Iconic Pictures or by ‘word of mouth’ must have come across the trailer one way or the other. This image indicates how some people were able to come across the ‘Best Friends Forever trailer.’ The first view our trailer received was from a mobile device, we were then getting views via links from twitter and facebook. When people went to view trailers from other groups in A2, they were then referred by youtube to watch our trailer, so other group’s trailers helped us pick up some views.
The video is most popular with females ages 18-24, males ages 18-24 and males ages 25-34. This is good as it shows we have reached our target audience in regards to age and gender. This other image also tells us what part of the world our video is most popular in and as you can see it has been watched more in the UK than anywhere else, but our video also happens to be quite popular in South America, Argentina. This also shows the group that our video is popular in other countries in the world, not just the UK.

BLACKBERRY MESSENGER FEEDBACK
Some positive comments about the 'Best Friends Forever' trailer that was sent to me via blackberry messenger:
We managed to interview people on our blackberry smartphones through blackberry messenger and received brief feedback on our trailer. We decided to use blackberry messenger aswell as youtube because the mass majority will be from England and as the screenshot above (right hand side) shows the video is most popular in Argentina, so asking individuals who are from where the film showed not to be as successful would give great variation to this conclusion.
Although the 'Best Friends Forever' trailer was shown to not be as popular in the United Kingdon, the general feedback we received from the individuals asked was good. Some really thought the storyline brought the trailer alive - which was a bonus as it was a concern that the storyline may come across as confusing. It was important for the trailer to not come across as 'cheesy' and to be realistic and this was mentioned in the feedback. The main purpose of creating a horror teaser trailer was for it to be scary and tense, otherwise we would have not accomplished what we hoped to. We have some evidence that our trailer was able to do this from feedback we received, via blackberry messenger interviews. The blackberry messenger interviews were successful as many individuals were able to pick up and comment on many of the things that we hoped to achieve when we finished making the trailer.

FACEBOOK FEEDBACK
Facebook is a great way for films to be promoted, as film companies have used facebook (social networking site) in order to promote their films. The advantages of creating a facebook page to do this is that it allows you interact directly with your audience by giving letting them leave their opinion on your film, you are able to show trailers and movie clips on your page - this will allow more people to become engaged with the film, you can have unlimited. You have access to an unlimited number fanbase, you are able to join up your twitter account (if you have one) with your facebook account and feeds from your twitter will automatically be directed to your facebook page and you can create event announcements and RSVPs for screenings of your film or appearances by cast and many many other things. Below are images of a well known horror film's page on youtube and how we tried to incorporate that with our 'Best Friends Forever' trailer
I choose to use 'SAW' because it is a well-known horror film and very popular in terms of age of our target audience,
This first image just briefly showing the 'SAW' fanpage, you have the option to like it fanpage and send a message. It also shows us that the fanpage has 4,097 likes and at that time 80 people were talking about the film 'SAW'
The second image just briefly shows the fanpage wall - on the wall is a post that for the first time ever 'SAW' films are available on Blu-ray. The date it would be released was the 3rd October 2011

The image of the man is one of the posters that was used as one of the 'SAW V' posters. It was shared on face on the 1st October 2008 and 61 people liked the poster posted on facebook. Saw fans would like this poster because immediatly they would know it has something to do with a 'SAW' film without even seeing a title or captions and that is the effect a movie poster is supposed to have on its audience.
The second image is just showing basic information about the 'SAW' fanpage. It shows the release date of the film which was 24th October 2008. It also tells us that the type of genre is horror and provides a link to the actual 'SAW V' website. This si basic information that fans would need and want to know about a film of their interest.

The first image is showing the fanpage that the group created to get feedback on our magazine and poster. We decided to use facebook mainly because many other films have facebook fan pages and it is one of the most efficient ways of promoting things to your fans.
The first image is showing that we have uploaded both our Magazine front cover and our trailer movie poster aswell as our 'Best Friends Forever' trailer. The fans are able to comment on everything we have uploaded which we as a group feel is important.
The second image is just briefly showing the recent activity happening on the fanpage - fans liking and commenting on the items recently uploaded.

Although face-to-face interviews may not be as quick, fast and easy and interviews via facebook chat and blacberry messenger they can be proved to be just as efficient, if not more. One reason I choose to interview people face-to-face about their opinions about the 'Best Friends Forever' trailer was because unlike facebook, twitter and blackberry messenger, face-to-face interviews gives opportunities that social networking sites are not able to.
First of all, you are able to get a feel for the genuwine emotions individuals have about the trailer because you are able to see their body language and facial expression and even by the way they talk. With face-to-face interviews people are less likely to lie, compared to blackberry messenger and facebook where individuals may lie without the possibility of knowing. Another strength of face-to-face interviews is that individuals are able to explain theirselves fully and properly as shown in the clips above all four people interviwed give
